ICSV is prior to be called as “Improving Competitive Skills in Vogue”. First ICSV was held in August 2006 in Islamabad and its name was “Improving Communication Skills of Visually Challenged people”. But then we realized that in communication skills we are bound to train our people in disciplines related to communication. So we the name was changed to what it is today.

Second ICSV was held at Bahria University Islamabad in the last week of December 2007. LIOCS accommodated total 48 national and local participants in ICSV 2007. National participants stayed under control of LIOCS management in the guest house in Islamabad. Pickup & drop transport services were provided to the local as well as national participants. The death of Benazir Bhutto during the last week of December 2008 brought in a challenge for ICSV management, and we remarkably proved our crisis management skills by not only assuring the security of our participants but also event continued successfully.

In the upcoming 6 days ICSV 2008 conference, we will train our participants in management skills, communication skills, personal and personnel development practices, computer skills and the like. ICSV is a visionary globe where the vision is gifted to the visually impaired.

Objectives of this conference are:

To reduce gap between visually challenged and sighted people.
To build the confidence of the participants to face obstacles of life.
To create awareness about the problems of visually challenged people.
To train people how to deal with visually challenged people.

ICSV 2008 is planned to be held during the last week of July 2008, in Islamabad. Eighty (80) participants shall be participating from all over the country in this conference, and the proportion would be 70% of visually impaired and 30% of sighted participants. Participants from outside twin cities, Islamabad and Rawalpindi, would reside under control of LIOCS Management in the venue arranged by the management.

The Criteria of selection would be:

He/She should be between 18 years to 24 years of age.
Minimum educational certification should be Matriculation.
Possesses a comprehensive and learning aptitude towards English.
Should be affiliated with an institution.
